Great Wall of China at Shixia Guan

Being nearest to the city of Beijing, the Great Wall of China at Shixia Guan is the most popular tourist attraction as far as the Great Wall is concerned. It climbs up the mountain slopes on the west of the Juyongguan Fortress towards the Shixia village, from where it gets its name. This section is just 6 miles long and has countless watchtowers along the path. Although some parts of the Wall and the watchtowers are damaged due to natural causes and corrosion, the path itself is well-preserved and a popular spot for hikers and trekkers.
