Great Wall of China at Simatai

Built during the Qi and Ming Dynasties, the Great Wall of China at Simatai has two sections that are divided by a lovely valley. The western section has a gentle slope and 20 well-maintained watchtowers. The eastern section with its 17 watchtowers is steeper because it is built along a rough terrain. It includes high mountain cliffs and is a more picturesque section and a popular hiking spot. You can also ascend the Simatai Wall using cable cars that give you a panoramic view of the Wall, the Mandarin Duck Lake, and the Gubei Water Town in the valley.
