White Dagoba (Miaoying Temple)

A dagoba is a Tibetan Buddhist pagoda. The White Dagoba (Miaoying Temple) is one of the finest examples of a dagoba. It is located in Beijing, China and is a place of pilgrimage even today for the Tibetans. The most precious sight at the temple is the 5.4cms small Dagoba Longevity Statue that is made of gold and is encrusted with 40 rubies. The Kwan-yin Bodhisattva Statue also looks magnificent with a thousand eyes and hands. At the temple complex is a museum-like section where life-size Buddhist statues, five Buddha’s crows, scriptures, embroidered cassocks, silk fabrics, and other ancient relics are preserved.
