While in China, if you don’t try out the scrumptious snacks on Jinli Street you will be doing yourself an injustice! Referred to as the “first street of the Shu Kingdom”, it has the best eateries of Chengdu, China. The buildings look like period-pieces from an ancient film set. The street has a multitude of shops selling tea, rich baldachin fabric, ethnic handicrafts, Shu embroidery, handmade souvenirs, calligraphy, paintings, and fast-food outlets with the most delicious Chinese snacks. The best time to visit is in the evenings when the street is lit up with traditional lanterns and you can see street performances. There are also many affordable hotels in the vicinity.
