Elephant's Bathing Pool

Emei Shan, China

According to the ancient legend, the place today called Elephant’s Bathing Pool was the spot where Buddha himself stopped in order to wash his elephant. Now, at that very spot, tourists visit a temple called Elephant’s Bathing Pool Temple. This point is located on 2070 meters above sea level. Spectacular mountains, breathtaking views, untouched nature and a beautiful temple with Buddha and elephant statues are a must-see. Alike majority of temples in this region, accommodation in the Elephant’s Bathing Pool is available as well. However, there are lots of monkeys proficient in stealing valuables from the tourists and the visitors.
