Manigango

Garze Prefecture, China

Manigango can be best described as a Tibetan version of the “one horse and truck-stop” kind of little town. It is located between the two major tourist destinations of Ganzi and Dege towns in Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. The town has its own attractions as well. The 17th-century Dzogchen Gompa(monastery) is located in the Zhuqing village nearby. The monastery has always been and still is the center of learning and religion for the Tibetan Buddhists. The Yilhun Lhatso (Yulong Lake or Xinluhai) at the foothills of the Chola Mountain range is a very scenic site. The Pani Hotel can provide lodgings, meals, and a horse to explore this beautiful untouched region.
