Situated not far from the Guangzhou, China is the ancient town of Xiguan which is well-known for its grand ancient mansions. The Xiguan Residences are mostly constructed with grey bricks. The main doors are made of thick and sturdy wood and an inner café-style entrance. The houses have a large patio and a spacious garden at the back. The most magnificent one is the Xiguan Mansion with its Manchuia-style stained-glass windows. Along the streets you will also find a number of cafes offering the best Cantonese delicacies like shrimp and wonton noodles, rice and shrimp rolls, sampan congee, dumplings, water-chestnut cake, etc.
