Located in the Xinjiang Autonomous Prefecture of China is the ancient town of Yotkan. During the Western Han Dynasty reign, Yotkan (Yurturgan or Yuetegan) was a booming trading community. Many relics that have been excavated show Greek and Persian influences. Majority of the relics were found at a depth of 3-6 meters. There is a large stone stele that serves as a nameplate for this cultural site in the Xinjiang Prefecture. Various artifacts were excavated like china figurines, earthenware, pottery items, golden Buddha statuettes, jade jewelry and showpieces, and a huge amount of ancient coins covering a time span of many centuries.
