Jilin Confucius Temple (Jilin Wenmiao)

Jilin City, China

One of the quaintest tourist attractions in China is the 60-year-old Jilin Confucius Temple (Jilin Wenmiao) located in the Jilin Province. At the entrance is a mural which shows a mountain of men climbing over each other. It depicts people’s attempts to attain supremacy in the Confucian hierarchy. The first hall has exhibits showing the famous Imperial Confucian examination system that was present during the Qing Dynasty. Surprisingly, you will also find cheat-charts on pieces of cloth showing answers to questions written by the Qing-period students in almost-microscopic handwriting! There is another hall where the relics depict the life of Confucius and some of his teachings.
