Yangpachen Hot Springs

Lhasa, China

Just 90Kms from Lhasa City are the picturesque Yangpachen Hot Springs. This geothermal region covers an area of 40 square kilometers and is one of the most popular tourist spots in Tibet. The water in the hot springs reaches up to 70 degrees C, boiling and bubbling even while the rest of Tibet might be cold and ice-packed in winter. The springs rise up almost to the skies when the throttle valve is opened. This dragon-like jet is seen from many miles across the rolling grasslands and green pastures of the surrounding areas. Accommodation is available at the Holy Medical Spring Resort, which has 2 indoor and 1 outdoor swimming pools.
