The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History Museum has exhibits showcasing the 19th century Taiping Rebellion. The Taiping Rebellion (Taiping Civil War) was a widespread rebellion that went on from 1850 to 1864 between the Qing Dynasty and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom (today's Nanjing). The museum is situated in the beautiful Zhan Yuan Garden in Nanjing, China. During the Ming Dynasty, this was a private garden where the Taiping officials lived. The exhibits in the Museum include maps showing the progress of the Taiping army, their weapons, coins, uniforms, and documents pertaining to their radical laws, reforms, social order, cultural policies, ideologies, etc.
