King Asoka Temple (Ayuwang Temple) dates back to year 282 CE. Afterwards, it was rebuilt and renovated several times. It is in vicinity of city of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. Alike most of the Buddhist temples, King Asoka Temple, or the Ayuwang Temple, as the locals call it, is located on a mountain. King Asoka Temple is situated near the Luhua peak in one of the Buddhist’s sacred mountains, Taibai. This is the only today existing temple in China named after an Indian king. The Temple is surrounded with gardens. Therefore, this is an excellent location for enjoying temple architecture, mountaineering and great views.
