Spread over an area of 45,000 square meters, the Wang Family Compound is located in Pingyao, Shanxi Province, China. The buildings in the compound reflect the grand lifestyle of affluent people during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The luxurious life that the Wang family lived is reflected in their buildings that include the Gaojia Ya, and the Chongning and Hongmen Castles. The interior walls of the buildings are covered with precious paintings and calligraphy. The Treasure Hall consists of some of the most unique artworks made with jade, precious metals, and gems. The best time to visit is on 18th August when a Tourism Festival is hosted here.
