The One Hundred Step Beach is a very popular beachside tourist destination in China. It is located near Putuo Shan (mountain) in the Zhoushan Islands, Zhejiang Province. The sand here is soft, clean, and looks like a golden carpet against the clear sea water. There is a huge choice of hotels and resorts, from upscale ones to budget accommodation. The best time to visit is between the months of May and August when the sea water is warm and most suitable for swimming and marine sports activities. Other attractions in the archipelago are the Puji, Fayu, and Huiji Buddhist temples and Purple Forest Scenic Area.
