Called the “colorful rock building” by the locals, the Granite Mansion in Qingdao, China was built with marble and granite in 1932. The architecture of this 5-storied Mansion reflects Russian, Greek, and Gothic styles. The underground passage is a unique part of the mansion. It was used by Chiang Kai-shek, the Chinese nationalist leader to reach the seashore from the mansion. Another unique aspect is that the surrounding streets have many ancient trees. Each street is named after the type of trees growing along its sides. Today, the site is a major tourist attraction and is even used as a beautiful background for wedding photographs.
