Qingdao Protestant Church

Qingdao, China

Established during the early 20th century by German missionaries and designed by Curt Rothkegel, the Qingdao Protestant Church is a beautiful landmark worth seeing. It is situated on a small hill near the Xinhaoshan Park in Qingdao and has a unique architecture. The base and walls are constructed with granite. The overall structure is of the old Bavarian style that reminds visitors of goat's cheese and the Alps. It has a bell tower that is 39 meters tall, a German bell, and a gigantic clock-face. Visitors are permitted to climb the stairs of the bell tower to get a bird's eye view of the town. Services are still held at the Church at weekends.
