Xiao Zhongdian, which is now called Shangri-La County is in the Yunnan Province, China. The County is situated on a 3,300 meters high plateau in the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It is considered to be a treasure of scenic areas, pine green forests, picturesque high-altitude alpine lakes, tall snow-capped mountain peaks, lower slopes with rich pastures, and more. Besides the spectacular natural landscape, there are numerous Tibetan villages around the forest area that are popular tourist destinations.
