The Pingjiang Historic Street (Pingjiang Lu) is a unique street in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China which has retained its ancient look even today. When you visit the street you will feel like you have gone back in time. It is a sleepy and quaint place with a few village-style tea shops, roadside cafes, souvenir shops, artists painting, or people just relaxing in the fresh air. Established during the Song Dynasty, this 800-year-old street is still well-preserved. With clear green river water meandering between black-tiled houses, it looks more like a painting than a real-world town. A specialty of the town are the jade souvenirs that the locals carve and sell.
