The history of this Taoist temple dates back to 276 AD when it was originally built. Its original name was Zhenqing Temple, but in 1264 it was renamed to Xuanmiao Temple. Over the centuries, it was renovated on several occasions after being destroyed in dynasty wars.
You must go through the Zheng Shan Men massive wood gate to enter the temple. The most prominent structure inside is the Hall of Three Qings. This building is protected by the state and considered to be “national treasure.” You can also find statues of six Taoist gods, as well as idols of two generals and four marshals and the Laozi Tablet that portrays Confucius.
