Fengdu Ghost City

Three Gorges, China

Located on the banks of the Yangtze River near the Ming Mountain in the Sichuan Province of China is a unique tourist attraction. It is called the Fengdu Ghost City, which has a mixed culture of Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. Legend says, that two Imperial officials during the Eastern Han Dynasty came to the city to learn and practice Taoism and were immortalized. An unusual temple was built in the place. It has murals depicting life in hell. The images have demons and ancient methods of torture showing how sinners will suffer. Between 3rd and 5th March each year, the temple holds a fair where there are shops, cafes, and life performances.
