Banpo Museum

Xi'an, China

Situated on the original excavation site, the Banpo Museum is near Xi’an, China. The museum is spread over an area of about 4,500 square meters with a Site Hall and two Exhibition Halls. The Museum has many tools that reflect the daily lives of the ancient Banpo people. The displays include chisels, stone and ceramic knives, axes, sickles, and other implements. It also has a beautiful collection of adornments used by the people and their intricate artwork. The Site Hall is spread over 3,000 square meters and showcases the residences, burial sites, and their pottery-making industrial area. Regular documentaries are shown for the benefit of tourists depicting the history, folklore, and ethnology of the Banpo people.
