The Sangke Grasslands are a vast green expanse located in the Gansu Province of China. In the summer season, the region looks like a painting with its colorful wildflowers in full bloom. As the Daxia River (a tributary of the Yellow River) meanders through the grasslands, it looks like a silvery sheet undulating in the breeze. Roaming in the grasses are flocks of sheep and yaks. The locals are Tibetan Buddhists who live in simple tent-like houses. The best time to visit the region is in the third week of June when the Xianglang Festival is celebrated with great joy full of enjoyable festivities.
