The Gaobei Tulou (Hakka houses) cluster is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It lies among mountains and rivers in Gaobei Village, China. A tulou is an earthquake-proof, fortified house built using mud, bamboo, stone, and wood. Most tulous can accommodate 500-800 members of the clan. It has a 2-meters thick wall and plenty of natural ventilation. The Gaobei cluster consists of many tulous of different sizes. The Wuyun Building constructed during the Ming Dynasty is the oldest and the Chengqi Building is the largest one in the cluster. There are many buses and taxis available if you want to view these ancient architectural marvels.
