On the instructions of the 5th Dalia Lama, the Anjue Lamasery was built in Kangding City, Garze Tibetan Prefecture, Sichuan Province of China. Surprisingly, it has a serene atmosphere although it is located in the heart of the city. It is a typical Tibetan Buddhist monastery or temple on the banks of the Zheduo River near the Jiangjun Bridge. The temple is closely related to the number “5” because the 5th Dalai Lama also chose its location. As the word for the number 5 sounds the same as “safety” in the Tibetan language, devotees visit the temple to pray for the safety of people living in all the directions of the world.
