China National Silk Museum

Located near the West Lake Scenic Area, Hangzhou, China is the China National Silk Museum. The museum is divided into six exhibition areas – the Silk Road Gallery, the Weaving Gallery, Fashion Gallery, the Collections Hall, the Conservation Gallery, and the Brocade Hall. Exhibits of ancient silk garments are exquisite, especially the Imperial Robe. The Weaving Hall shows the process of weaving silk cloth. The Fashion Gallery has a superb collection of contemporary outfits in silk. You can also learn how to preserve silk at the Conservation Hall. There is a stall for buying books, films, food and beverages as well.
