Jiangjun Yashu

Situated in the city of Hohhot, the Jiangjun Yashu is the only ancient well-preserved building among the cultural relics in Mongolian area of China. To strengthen the northwest border of China, the Qing Dynasty Emperor ordered the construction of the Suiyuan city besides Hohhot. The Jiangjun Yashu building was constructed for the general of this new city and covers a massive area of 15,000 square meters. The massive gate is very impressive with two lions flanking it on either side. The courtyard has three structures, two of which are open to the public and one in which was the general’s residence.
