A plaza that has been famous since the Ming and Qing Dynasties is the Fuzi Miao Pedestrian Street, Nanjing, China. In ancient times the street was almost 5Kms long and was dotted with numerous restaurants, lodging houses, shops, colorful signboards, and lanterns. Members of the royal families, affluent merchants and other travelers were regular patrons on the street. Although not that long anymore, the street has some of the best shopping, entertainment, and fine-dining facilities in Nanjing. While you are in the vicinity, a visit to the Confucius Temple will be an enjoyable experience too.
