The Tibet Museum, the official museum in Lhasa of the Tibetan people of China was established in 1999. It has the largest collection of typically Tibetan artifacts that date back to ancient times. These include 520,000 pieces of ancient pottery, jade artifacts, and Buddhist statues. There are also more than 1,000 exhibits pertaining to the cultural and architectural history of Tibet, like ancient beams, doors, etc. The exhibits are divided into sections like history, culture and arts, customs and traditions, politics, and religion since ancient times.
