St. Michael's Cathedral

St. Michael's Cathedral is located in Qingdao, China. It was the seat of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese. It is the edifice that shows the level of German influence in China in the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1942, for a few years it was under the control of the Japanese army but was returned to China in 1945. It was closed for a long time, but in 1992 the Cathedral was opened to the public by the Chinese government. Later, it was declared by the Shandong province government as a Provincial Historic structure and was closed to protect the heritage site. Today, the Cathedral remains closed for service or religious ceremonies. But it is often used as a backdrop for photographs because it is a beautiful building.
