China Academy of Art

Established in 1928, the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou is a premier academy that has advanced programs in art. Colloquially called Guomei, the Academy has the best globally-famous artists among its alumni. It has a four-tiered doctoral programs in different art forms like calligraphy, sculpture and public art, art history and theory, dance, music, design, architecture, painting, crafts, dramatics, film-making, television, animation, broadcasting, and other allied courses. In any given year the academy has over 1,200 students who are pursuing different doctoral programs. With its record for yielding the best talent, it is considered the most prestigious art academy in China.
