Built during the Qing Dynasty, the Guo's Villa or Guo Zhuang is a well-preserved ancient private residence in Hangzhou, China. The villa has a beautiful mountain as a backdrop and the scenic West Lake in front. The property is divided into two areas – the living quarters called the “Living in Quietness” and the exterior landscaped area called the “Sky in the Mirror” garden. The garden has a pond that is surrounded by rockeries, roofed corridors, ancient trees, flowering bushes, and ornamental stone bridges. It is arranged in a unique light-and-shade theme representing the Chinese yin and yang philosophy that exemplifies Taoism. Don’t forget to try out the aromatic Longjing Tea at their tea shop.
