Longjing Tea Plantation can be found on the West Lake’s west side. The Longjing Village is surrounded by the mountains, which only add to the beautiful green scenery of watching tee trees planted in rows. The plantation currently covers around 800 acres of land and that is the number of residents living in the village. This is where the famous Chinese Longjing (Dragon Well) Tea originated.
While you are in the village, you can visit the “18 Emperor Tea Trees.” According to the legend, Emperor Qianlong was taught the skill of tea-picking here. He chose these 18 trees to pick the leaves from to make tea and was delighted that his mother, who had fallen ill, felt better after drinking it.
