Great Wall of China at Gubeikou

The Great Wall of China at Gubeikou has seen a lot of additions and reinforcements over many centuries that is why it has an unusual appearance. It was first constructed by the Qi Dynasty in Northern China. Later, during the Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt to improve its defensive capacity. Today, only a few of these stones exist. But the portion that has remained in the best condition is the Dahualou or Big Flower Watch Tower. This section has got its name because of its square shape and 12 arrow-like windows, that together, look like a blossoming flower when seen from a distance.
