Nan Luo Gu Xiang

In ancient China, narrow commercial streets were called hutongs. The Nan Luo Gu Xiang is a hutong in Beijing, China that was first constructed during the Yuan Dynasty although the name was coined during the Qing Dynasty. The original structures and the new buildings have similar ancient architecture. The street is a busy hub and a very popular tourist attraction, especially with the youth. The street has a large number of fast food takeaways, bars, coffee shops, fine-dining restaurants, music houses, souvenir shops, and more. The Pedi-cab tours to visit the street also include visits to the Bell & Drum Towers, Prince Gong’s Mansion, and the adjoining imperial courtyards.
