Prince Gong's Mansion

Originally called the Prince Kung's Mansion, the Prince Gong's Mansion is situated next to the Shichahai Lake in the north of Beijing. The property consists of a large "siheyuan" style mansion and vast beautifully landscaped gardens. Prince Gong was a Manchu prince and a very proactive statesman of the latter part of the Qing Dynasty. The property has an area of 60,000 square meters and there are beautiful Lake Tai, the artificial hills, and ponds. The property includes the main two-storied mansion, numerous courtyards, and the grand Opera House of Beijing. The courtyards have some permanent exhibitions as well as some seasonal exhibitions that tourists love to visit.
