For those who are in search of unusual ancient Chinese relics, the Poly Art Museum in Beijing is truly worth a visit. It is a treasure trove of Buddhist sculptures and old metalwork. The Qingzhou style Buddhist statues dating back to the Qi, Wei, and the Tang dynasties are quite an attraction. There are also 12 animals in bronze - a pig, a tiger, a monkey, and an ox that were originally kept in the Summer Palace by the royalty and look very impressive. While you are here, don't miss the huge and intricate design on the Zun vessel that is shaped like a phoenix.
